Hashkama: Nothing to be Proud of

Pastor Peter Simpson, Minister of Penn Free Methodist Church attended the 50^th Annual Gay Pride parade in central London earlier this year.  He was there, along with others, to preach the Gospel.  Also there, was the then Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.  He said: ‘It gives me the greatest pride to lead a country where you can love whomever you choose to love, and where you can be free to be whoever you want to be . . . Today will see thousands of people, friends and families once more coming together to mark the tremendous milestone of 50 years of our capital’s Pride.’  Peter Simpson expressed his thoughts on the Prime Minister’s speech: ‘The Prime Minister might just as well have said: “The teachings of the Bible and the opinions of UK citizens who are Christians are of absolutely no consequence to me or my government. I publicly repudiate their outmoded morality, which thankfully has been superseded by the enlightened progressiveness which now characterises modern Britain.”’  Was it simply coincidence that within a comparatively short space of time, the Prime Minister was forced to resign his post?  Was it the last straw for God?  Has God given us a pictorial prophecy for all the nation to see, of how He will cast aside a rebellious Britain?  Boris’ betrayal by his Tory colleagues also reveals the depth of intrigue, and the murky minds and manoeuvrings of his ‘friends’ and colleagues in power.  British society is arrogant towards God.  It was, to all accounts, after a National Prayer Breakfast[i] that Sajid Javid, a Muslim (He is reported to have said that he “practises no religion”, and that he is pro-Israel, and that he “lives in a primarily Christian household”), decided to hand in his resignation; that move seemed to set the ball rolling, as other resignations were to follow.  Javid put himself forward for the office of Prime Minister, but perhaps not surprisingly he fell by the wayside.  Boris himself has little or no moral or spiritual compass.  He simply goes wherever the wind is blowing him at the time.  Watching this whole process of the demise of Boris, and seeing this whole episode unfold, no-one should accept the job of Prime Minister without first engaging a gang of personal body-guards, when one’s back is particularly vulnerable.  Passing fish shops back in the day you could often see a sign saying “frying tonight.”  There should be such a sign over Westminster, when the national leader falls from grace.  Like the white smoke going up for a new pope, the sign could go up each time a Prime Minister is cut down – which appears to be a regular happening in these modern times.  Other dignitaries present at the Pride parade were those of the Labour Party, Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London), Sir Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner, all giving enthusiastic support and encouragement.  They can’t tell you what a woman is, but they know an awful lot about Pride!

Referring to the small group of believers that were simply there to speak of Jesus, a TV reporter said that “religious bigotry is still alive”[ii].  This proved Boris’ statement to be untrue, since this small group of believers were not at all free to love who they wanted to love.  They were not free to love or to speak about Jesus the Saviour, without being subjected to scorn and verbal abuse.  They had eggs and drink thrown at them and more besides, simply because they wanted to speak about the love of God for humankind.  God was not allowed to love who He wanted to love.  They were accused of being “filled with hatred.” This is the mantra of the age.  It is the mantra of the world, the devil and the flesh against all who love the Messiah.  The Pride bigots were full of pride, and they were full of pride because they are trying to hide from the all-seeing One.  They tell themselves how much better they are than others, to make themselves feel better about themselves.  They need Pride events to maintain the deception in their own lives, as well as to attempt to convince others how wonderful and free they are.  What flows from Pride is venom, not love.

This is a situation we are stuck with.  While I am writing this the Conservative Party are voting for a new leader and Prime Minister.  The question has come up again, “What is a woman?”  Many politicians are finding this simple question very difficult to answer, even among those vying to be Prime Minister.  There is much talk about integrity[iii], but very little evidence of it in Westminster.  Even the Anglican bishops are unable to define what a woman is.  They must struggle with Revelation 12 and Ch.17, as well as Genesis 2:4-3:24.  Pandoras Box has been opened and the world is contaminated by what has been let loose.  What is happening is that unelected people of great influence are gaining control of national governments.  This is happening in various ways; some of the more obvious ones are through deception in: Finance and Banking.  Wojtek Paprota refers to himself as a transhumanism believer.’ There is a growing movement that wants humans to use technology to evolve beyond their physical limitations.  His company is selling contactless bank-cards that can be implanted into humans[iv].  I am sure we will hear more about this in the not-too-distant future.  Illegal Immigration/People Smuggling continues on an almost daily basis, so it is easy for us not to notice and to dismiss the significance of what is really occurring.  Next is Racism – which leads into a fake history of slavery and the blight of being white; and the demands for financial restitution and compensation for historical sins, real or imagined.  Anthropogenic Climate Change, which is a hoax with an agenda.  This hoax leads into many others, electricity, gas, oil, food, freedom of movement, freedom of thought, transport, education, religion, history, health, medicine, vaccines, pandemics, law-enforcement, justice, Net-Zero and so on.  World governments are surrendering sovereignty by stealth.  It is hardly noticeable to many, but is obvious to those who watch and pray.  Abraham Lincoln put it succinctly: “Democracy is ‘government by the people, for the people, and of the people.’”  Unfortunately, we now have a society that call evil good, and good evil.  For society to govern rightly it must first of all embrace the right values; values that include cherishing truth, critical thinking, respect for other viewpoints, individual rights and appreciation that every individual is of equal worth.  Western values and democracy are diminishing as we first surrendered to “Cultural Marxism” as Steve Maltz termed it,[v]before turning to the “Woke culture.”  Apart from the ‘[in]famous few’ nations, China, Russia, North Korea, there are not so many obvious dictators in the world (That doesn’t mean that they are not there).  We don’t see quite as many violent seizures of power as we used to.  Military coups are not as common as they once were.  Most breakdowns of democracy nowadays are caused by elected governments – elected autocrats who maintain a form or veneer of democracy, while depriving it of substance and power.  Alarm bells are not sounded because there are no obvious give-away signs that governments have crossed the red line into dictatorship.  It just slips in quietly, over time, without pomp or ceremony.  This can happen in churches too, which have developed more often than not into mini democracies.  The all-laughing, joking, friendly pastor, cajoles the church into doing what he wants.  Those who denounce government or church leadership abuse, may be dismissed as exaggerating or crying wolf.  Democracy’s erosion is, for many, “almost imperceptible.”  Yet, in plain sight and in various towns[vi], police have largely ignored the plight of young white girls that were/are sexually savaged by Muslim men.  There has been no condemnation from the Imams or mosques, and the UK government likewise ignored the situation.  The government have also ignored those that suffered from serious Covid vaccine side-affects.  This is abominable in a democracy, and in a land that has had the Gospel and known both blessing and deliverance by the hand of God.  Having said all of that, there is an allegation that a Tory (named as Dougie Smith) made an aggressive, threatening phone-call to Boris Johnson, on his private phone in February, telling Boris to resign, and that if he refused, they would get him anyway…which they did, in July.  There are calls for an investigation.  The Mother of all Parliaments is becoming, not only seedy, but coup-like.  Europe beckons?

As we see, the UK is spiritually and morally deficient in politics and in religion.  There will be a great cost for our moral and spiritual infidelity.  Britain is not alone; the USA is in a bad way.  The percentage of Americans that believe the Bible is the literal Word of God has dropped from 24% in 2017, to 20% in 2022.  There is a new high of 29% of those who believe the Bible is a collection of fables, and legends.  There is a decline in overall spirituality in the USA adult population.  That once great nation is a shadow of its former self, as are the politics and leadership.  There is no shame, only pride.  There is not one day put aside for the nation to give thanks to God.  There are only days of Pride and the celebration of debauchery.  Earlier this year, Europe took a whole week to celebrate Gay Pride.  God sent a leader and deliverer to Israel that they did not deserve, Moses.  God sent a leader and Deliverer to the world that we did not deserve – His Son, Jesus Christ.  We are now in an era when God is sending leaders that we do deserve, and they, like Korah, will lead the nations, and those Christians who have fallen under the spell of the fake rainbow, to destruction.  The world doesn’t only have the leaders it deserves, also developing, just as it did with Korah & Co (Numbers 16:32), is the world conditions it deserves.  Church denominations that are deserting God and His Word will also get the leaders they deserve.  They will be those who look back with longing and who want to re-join the cabbage patch that the world enjoys so much.  At the right time, the final world leader the earth-dwellers all deserve and long for will arrive on the scene.  Antichrist will give the people the [ungodly] desires of their hearts…for a short time.
