Foundations 15 (Retreat)

July 2^nd – 4^th 2021

THEME: This is a retreat with the accent on fellowship, especially after 15 months of deprivation and lockdown.

TITLE: Flockdown Church

VENUE: Carronvale House, Falkirk FK5 3LH https://carronvalehouse.co.uk/

COST: £120 per person (full conference) £70 per person (day visitors). This low price has only been made possible through an anonymous financial gift.

EXPENSES: We will be able to help some financially, but the cost is low so there is little financial leeway. We are hoping that some will pay into a bursary that will help others, particularly with travelling expenses.

MEALTIMES

Breakfast is buffet style. Cooked breakfasts have to be pre-booked

Lunchtime is buffet style with the sort of lunches we are used to. There will be no pork products.

Dinner is two courses. No pork.

They need a week’s notice on any allergies/special diets.

The refreshment station is available at any time. During refreshment times home made biscuits will be made available (Also cake at 9pm!)

BEDROOMS

All are a good standard. There are no double beds. All are ensuites except for two twin rooms, where the facilities are directly opposite and only for use by these two rooms. No toiletries supplied or bath towel (they just supply a small towel and a bar of soap). No tea making (though every room has a TV). Wi-fi is available to all rooms in the house. One room is suitable for disabled, with lift access (all rooms on first floor).

OTHER

It is locked at night at 10:30pm but you can access through side entrance with an entry code. Staff are available from 7:30am. There is an emergency contact for night times, with a caretaker.

There are two taxi companies (numbers will be supplied) to take people from station, otherwise it is around a 15 minutes walk from Larbert station

One incentive for people to come is that I intend to give away a huge number of unsold books there – so be prepared to go back with a couple of boxes! I would prefer my books to be out in the world rather than sitting gathering dust in a warehouse!

The accent of the weekend is on FELLOWSHIP, with some sharing and teaching etc. It will be more relaxed than our usual conferences. The venue is CARRONVALE HOUSE in FALKIRK. It’s a lovely place and we will have it all to ourselves.
