In a historic week that has seen the appointment of a new Prime Minister and a new Monarch in the UK I believe it may be right for us to spend much of tonight’s Saffron Planet in prayer according to the following verses from God’s Word:
First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1Ti 2:1-4 NASB1995)
Many Christians are concerned that Queen Elizabeth’s faith provided a covering for the UK and that Charles’ accession to the throne may accelerate Christian persecution in this country. Whatever lies in store, tonight let us first point our merry band to the King of Kings and then let us pray in His name for our new king and Prime Minister as the Lord has commanded us to do…
