The Voice<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\nMATTHEW 3:13-17, MARK 1:7-11, LUKE 3:21-23, JOHN 1:32-34<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nIt was all about the voice, or The Voice, the Voice from Heaven that proclaimed, This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased<\/em>. I wonder who heard this? Just Jesus, as a confidence booster for the desert trials that awaited him? Did John hear this, as a confirmation of his life\u2019s work? The Gospel account suggests that he did. How about the others who stood in line for their baptisms? It must have been an incredible spectacle, whoever was there. The fact is that we were there too<\/em>. This event lives through the recorded word, passed down to us by the Gospel writers. We trust these words, we also trust the message behind them. Jesus is God\u2019s beloved son and, despite the fact that his ministry hadn\u2019t yet got started, God was already pleased with him. So should we be, too, for what he did for all of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
